AGM 2022 – Board Nominations

Nomination Form for the WASEMA INC BOARD 2022

Wasema is seeking nominations for members to be elected to the Board at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 

14th September 2022 Wednesday 7.00 pm with the meeting to be held both via ZOOM Video Conferencing. 

Eligibility to nominate 

• A candidate must be a WASEMA general member with full voting rights
• All parts of this form must be completed and signed
• Nominations must reach the organisation secretary by no later than Wednesday 31st of August by 5 pm, late applications will not be accepted

Positions to be filled 

All 9 positions are vacant on the Board, including 

• Chair
• Vice-Chair 
• Secretary 
• Treasurer
• 5 x General Members 

Previous board and Governance related experience is preferred for the office bearer roles. 

Board members, as a minimum, are required to have;

• An understanding of organisational governance
• A demonstrated commitment to the WASEMA Inc vision which is "To increase the wellbeing and social and economic capacity of women from all cultural backgrounds.”
• and to our Purpose "The Association is established to be a charity whose purpose is to promote social or public welfare by supporting and advocating for Victorian women of multicultural backgrounds".
• We would value nominations from people who can contribute to our work in strengthening community development and deliver our strategic direction. 

Participation Requirements

Nominees should be able to commit and participate as active Board Members.

The requirements for participation are to: 

• Attend all Board meetings monthly for (2 hours), with additional time to review Agenda papers and prepare to provide a view on meeting agenda papers (2 hours)
• Read documents and complete flying minutes as required between Board meetings (1 hour)
• Be involved in sub-committees as required either in an advisory capacity or as an active member (negotiable)
• Attend community events, representing WASEMA and be in touch with WASEMA member views (the time allocation will vary approx 1 hour per month)
• Participate in WASEMA major events (member celebrations every 6 months, learning and development events, sector meetings as required)

This form is to be completed by nominees and in addition to this form also provide an up to date copy of a CV (if not provided previously)
