About WASEMA Inc

WASEMA Inc Works for the wellbeing of all women especially, in South East Melbourne.

We provide a network for women’s groups to share activities, experiences and challenges, meeting each month to share information and provide opportunities for engagement.

We provide opportunities for women’s groups to work together and support each other on common projects, funding applications, events and other activities.

We also advocate in the area of women’s issues.

Aside from our Friendship Cafes we also hold information sessions, workshops, training, exhibitions, expo's, mentoring, coaching, well-being programs, within WASEMA and/or in collaboration with other organisations, networks, groups or individuals.

We prepare, submit and execute grants with Local, State and Federal government as well as private enterprise, other organisations and individuals.

We welcome volunteers to support our projects and programs.

Explanation of Type of Membership

*General Member has full voting rights

*Associate Member - No Voting Rights (is under the age of 15 or any other category of member as determined by special resolution at Board meetings who will not have voting rights).

A member transitions to Associate Member - no Voting rights when there is a financial gain or benefit derived from WASEMA Inc's services such as contractors and community development workers who facilitate our activities such as the cafes. When the financial relationship ends the member returns to General Membership with full Voting rights.
